Hosted in the gorgeous Palazzo Blu in Pisa, it features more than 150 works by American artist Edward Hopper, one of the most influential artists of the twentieth century. Five thematic sections that help trace the main stages of Hopper’s career. Through paintings, watercolours, drawings, prints and archival materials, the exhibition retraces Hopper’s creative journey. His unmistakable vision, the architecture of loneliness and isolation has become iconic and continues to captivate audiences all around the world.

Autumn brings with it an opportunity to check out the extraordinary exhibit ‘Broken, the Power of Fragment’ – at Palazzo Strozzi from 25th September 2026 until 24th January 2027 – Exploring the evocative power of the fragment in art history. Artemisia Gentileschi, Innocenti Museum in Florence | 21st October 2026 – 4th April 2027
Artemisia Gentileschi (1593 – 1653) was the first woman to be admitted to the Academy of Arts, received prestigious commissions from the Medici family, lived in kings’ courts, and was at the center of the cultural life of the time. She established herself as an artist, following Caravaggio’s lesson but introducing her creative originality, taking her rightful place among the great masters of art history.
With this exhibition at the charming (and lesser known!) Innocenti Museum, in Piazza SS. Annunziata in Florence, you can delve into the world of Artemisia, famous for her emotionally intense depictions of strong women and her masterful use of chiaroscuro (dramatic light and shadow).
Dante’s Inferno Immersive Experience, Cattedrale dell’Immagine, Florence | until 15th November 2026
Enter at your own peril! Inferno is a new major immersive exhibition that takes you to the heart of Dante’s universe. Digital art and cutting-edge technologies. A 25 minutes journey through the circles of Hell, following Dante and Virgil on a descent amongst the damned.
If your idea of fun in experiencing a mythical journey, thanks to monumental projection and interactive installations, don’t miss this opportunity. Check out the VR room and the crypt. Where is it? Inside the impressive setting of the deconsecrated Chuch of Santo Stefano al Ponte, in Piazza Santo Stefano, a few steps from the Ponte Vecchio.

‘900 Italian Painters at Casa Museo Ivan Bruschi, Arezzo | 14th October 2026 – 31t May 2027
‘Figure del ‘900’ is a small exhibit (around 30 artworks) hosted in the interesting Casa Museo Ivan Bruschi, a 14th century house-turned-museum in Arezzo that displays a vast, eclectic collection of over 8 thousands art pieces and antiques gathered by the renowned collector and antiques dealer Ivan Bruschi. The exhibit is dedicated to Italian painters from the first half of the 20th century – like Boccioni, Balla, De Quirico.
It’s a great opportunity to visit a lesser known attraction in beautiful Arezzo, while learning about how art was developing in Italy in those turbulent decades of last century.
You can easily reach Arezzo by train from Florence as a day trip, or dedicated a few days to explore the attractions on the town and surroudings.
