Music Festivals in Tuscany in the Summer

PUCCINI FESTIVAL, Torre del Lago (near Lucca)

As composers go, Giacomo Puccini has to be Tuscany’s most famous homegrown talent. The small coastal town of Torre del Lago (where he used to reside) hosts the Puccini Festival every year, with a series of operas staged in the atmospheric setting of the Massaciuccoli Lake. This year the festival takes place between 18th July – 6th September 2025. See official site for full program and tickets.

LUCCA SUMMER FESTIVAL, Lucca

Probably the biggest and most popular of all Summer Music Festivals in Tuscany, the Lucca Summer Festival has been attracting big artists and thousands of music lovers since 1998. This year’s line-up includes artists like Jennifer Lopez, Santana and Simple Minds. Shows will take place in Piazza Napoleone, Lucca, throughout July.

FIRENZE ROCKS, Florence

The City of the Renaissance will host Firenze Rocks at Visarno Arena in the Cascine Park – usually mid June. This year 2025 Green Day, Guns N’ Roses and Korn are among the much awaited guests.

Every Summer the “Estate Fiesolana” Festival offers a rich program of concerts (classical, jazz, Italian and international contemporary artists) and theatre shows. Where? The setting is simply spectacular: the Roman Theatre in Fiesole, perched on a scenic hill just above Florence. This year it’s on from 11th June to 11th September 2025. See full program on the official site.

The festival takes place every year during mid July. Check dates and concerts on the Pistoia Blues Festival site.

TEATRO DEL SILENZIO, Laiatico (near Pisa)

Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli comes back to his home town Lajatico (near Pisa) every July. A few years ago he established here the beloved ‘Teatro del Silenzio’, a magical place immersed in the Tuscan hills of the Lajatico countryside. Using the words of the creators Teatro del Silenzio is a week that celebrates universal love for music, and a chance for Bocelli to show the beauty of his homeland and the musical journey of his career” (this year 22nd-26th July 2025).

Not far from Lajatico is another intimate, and very scenic, venue: Peccioli, in the Anfiteatro Fonte Mazzola. This year features Summer concerts and events – and we’re looking forward to seeing the Waterboys (4th July 2025).

BARGA JAZZ FESTIVAL, Barga

Every year between July and August, the scenic hilltop town of Barga, north of Lucca, hosts the Barga Jazz Festival. With a line-up of internationally acclaimed artists, this popular festival includes jam sessions, masterclasses, and a rich program of concerts.
